Wim van der Beek is an investment specialist with over two decades of experience in financial structuring and private equity investments. In 2004 he founded Goodwell Investments, an impact investment firm focused on access to finance and sustainable development in emerging countries. Goodwell channels capital to scalable business solutions, currently mainly in financial services (microfinance) and increasingly in other impact sectors that combine demonstrable social and environmental impact with commercial financial returns. Goodwell has built and manages microfinance investment companies with a total committed capital of around $ 70 million, in partnership with the Aavishkaar team in India, Alitheia Capital in Nigeria and JCS in Ghana. Goodwell’s portfolio companies have provided over $ 1.2 billion in small loans to more than 6 million families.

In addition to its investment activities, Goodwell advises in the fields of impact investments, business and finance solutions. Goodwell investors and clients include social investors, foundations, family offices, development finance institutions, funds-of-funds and pension funds.
