Antoinette van Lier is Investment Director at PGGM Investments, Responsible Equity Portfolio, a Euro 3 bn portfolio which is invested long term in listed companies that operate in a responsible manner. Through a proprietary bottom-up approach, the portfolio identifies companies with strong financial and ESG profiles that can generate a superior risk-reward by bearing less financial, ESG and reputational risk for its clients. In addition, the portfolio plays an investor citizenship role by acting as an owner through a substantial equity position in the companies in which it invests.
Before joining PGGM, Antoinette held several positions within ABN AMRO Bank: she was Macro Economic analyst, Relationship Manager for UK Global Clients and investment manager at ABN AMRO Capital, the bank’s Private Equity unit, and she was Strategy Consultant involved in several integration programs of acquired banks. Antoinette finalised her bank career as head of the Consulting department and head of the Transition unit preparing the bank for its takeover by a bank consortium. Antoinette has a master degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam.
