Remy Briand is responsible for research on all MSCI-branded products at MSCI Inc., a leading global provider of investment decision support tools, including indices and portfolio risk and performance analytics. In this capacity, Mr. Briand is in charge of the continual expansion, refinement and improvement of MSCI indices and MSCI Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) rating and compliance products. Mr Briand is also leading the MSCI ESG Research business.

Mr Briand joined MSCI in 2001 as Head of the Benchmark Research Group focusing on research on equity indices. He joined MSCI from Credit Lyonnais Asset Management in Paris where he held the position of Head of Research and managed a team of financial analysts covering Europe. In this capacity, he was also a member of the firm’s equity investment committee. Prior to this role, Mr Briand has been managing several European small cap funds. Mr Briand began his career as a private equity analyst at Credit Lyonnais. Mr Briand holds an MSc in Computer Sciences from INSA (Lyon) and an MBA from HEC (Paris).
