Ian Simm is the Founder and Chief Executive of Impax Asset Management Group plc (IAM), an investment management firm managing or advising ca. £2.3 billion in the alternative energy and related environmental sectors on behalf of more than 100 institutional investors worldwide. Ian has been responsible for building IAM since launch in 1998, particularly the firm’s listed equity, venture capital and infrastructure teams and investment products. In addition to his role as Chief Executive, Ian heads the firm’s investment committees.

Prior to Impax, Ian was an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company in the Netherlands where he led teams to provide advice to clients in a range of environmentally sensitive industries. He has a first class honours degree in physics from Cambridge University and a Master's in Public Administration from Harvard University.
