Title
Social Performance Management: Leveraging Financial and Social Return on Investments of Microfinance Institutions
Description
Although there are some successful microfinance institutions around the world, the vast majority of MFIs still faces a lack of management capacity to prove financial self-standing of the institutions. On the other hand, as the MF sector has put its emphasis on improving financial performance throughout the decade, the social side of microfinance is now in question; of which the recent microfinance crisis may be a good example.
Social Performance Management is a management methodology, from strategy building to evaluation, which engages MFIs in improving both financial performance and social impact in balanced, sustainable way. The presentation will look into the detail of social performance management and its significance for the future of microfinance investment.
