Michael has recently formed InSpire South Africa, a fund management andadvisory company principally aimed at investing in sustainable Cleantechventures in Southern Africa and a member of the InSpire Group ofcompanies, based in Norway. He is currently also working on a broadbased empowerment project in the taxi industry and assisting atrade-union owned Micro-finance institution with strategic planning andfundraising.Prior to his involvement with InSpire, Michael was responsible for themanagement of non-mining related investments at Exportcapital, a SouthAfrican Venture Capital firm. At Exportcapital, he has initiatedinvestments to the total value of million and has held several boardpositions. He has experience in building up companies and teams, asachieved with E*Trade SA, where he acted as executive director. Henegotiated and oversaw the introduction of this US-based onlinebrokerage to South Africa and gained experience in the capital marketregulatory environment as well as portfolio management. He has worked asa corporate advisor for ten years for among others Deloitte consultingand the IBM consulting group, where he headed up numerous projects intransport, ICT, manufacturing, banking, tourism and FMCG.Michael has specific expertise in strategic, marketing and financialplanning, company listings and capital market fundraising.
