Mike Tyrrell joined Citigroup's European Equity Research Department inApril 2005 as part of the 'Socially Responsible Investment' team. Theobjective of this team is to integrate the analysis of social andenvironmental issues into Citigroup's existing research processes andthereby to help investment clients understand how companies areresponding to the challenges of sustainable development and to helpcompanies communicate their environmental and social performance to theinvestment community.Before joining Citigroup, Mike completed an MSc at Imperial College inEnvironmental Technology, worked briefly for an environmentalconsultancy and for an environment and development NGO, spent five yearswith Jupiter Asset Management as a Senior Analyst within theirEnvironmental Research Unit and, most recently, worked for three yearswithin HSBC's Investment Bank. At HSBC he set up the first SociallyResponsible Investment research capacity (on the "sell side") within amajor investment bank.
