Kevin Aschim was raised in western Canada and studied forestry and
earned an MBA from the University of Alberta. He worked in the pulp and
paper and chemical industry for 18 years in sales and management before
joining the Alberta Research Council in 2006 where he works in
partnering with industry in accelerating development and
commercialization of life sciences technologies. He is co-founder and
interim Chairman of the Canadian Biochar Initiative, a trade association
of industry, investors, researchers, policy makers and agricultural and
forestry producers dedicated to advancing research and public policy
towards the development of a biochar based industry in Canada.
