After graduation from Osaka University of Foreign Studies in 1960, joined Sumitomo
Corporation, a Japanese integrated trading firms;　total of 34 years experience in
business and corporate planning & strategy, including 23 years of overseas assignments
to the United States. Joined Omron Corporation in 1994 as associate director of the
Corporate Communications Headquarters.

Currently corporate adviser of Board of
Directors Office at Omron Corporation.

Current position on Corporate Social Responsibility and Good Corporate Citizenship:
Chair of Keidanren’s(JBF) affiliated council CBCC (Council for Better Corporate Citizenship) since 2000 Member of Keidanren CSR Top Management Committee
Member for government-led CSR Multi-stakeholders Committee in Japan
Japanese business representative for the CSR WG of IOE
Appointed as Expert member to represent the Japanese business for the CSR Working Group of ISO and the head of the Japanese delegation.

Participation and involvement in External Affairs and Government Affairs:
Acting member for various committees for Japan Business Federation, including Keidanren committees for WTO/APEC/Regional-bilateral FTA, US-Japan Relations
Acted as a senior staff member of Japan APEC Business Council from 1994 to 1997.
Chair of the Working Group for the Japan-Singapore Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement committee of Keidanren Committee member for METI’s Group Studies for the future East Asian Regional Market
