TBLI CONFERENCE™ ASIA 2009

Workshop 2 - Green Real Estate

Location

Pacifico Conference Room 413

Time

14:30 - 16:15

Description

The European Commission (2006) estimated that “partly because of its large share of total consumption, the largest cost-effective
savings potential lies in the residential (households) and commercial buildings sector (tertiary sector), where the full potential is now estimated to be around 27% and 30% of energy use, respectively.” This amounts up to an energy savings potential of the building sector
by 2020 of 154 Mtoe (million tons of oil equivalent); compared to a savings potential of 105 Mtoe in the transport sector and 95 Mtoe in
the manufacturing industry.

Pursuing Additional Value of Green Buildings in Japan
Description
I subscribed an article "A note on environmental value added for real estate" for the tenth anniversary memory article of Tokyo association of real estate appraisers in 2005 and won the highest award.
Since then, I have been considering ways of applying my theory in new real estate business such as consulting for sustainable construction.
And now, I am pursuing methods for connecting CASBEE, which is a Japanese comprehensive assessment system for green buildings, to real estate appraisal (see Figure2).
In TBLI CONFERENCE™ ASIA 2009, I would like to present my theory and my recent activities to promote green buildings in Japan.
