Mr. Kris Douma (1961) joined Mn Services as Head of Responsible Investment & Active Ownership in April 2007. Before that he worked 15 years at Dutch FNV trade unions, lastly as head of strategy and consultancy at FNV Bondgenoten, the largest Dutch trade union. Between January 2003 and November 2006 he was a Member of Parliament for the Dutch Social Democratic Party (PvdA) and was actively involved in discussions on globalisation, world trade, the Doha round of the WTO, ILO, the European Lisbon Strategy, CSR and corporate governance. Mn Services is the fiduciary manager for 15 Dutch and 2 UK pension funds and 2 insurance companies, with €75 assets under management (AUM). The major clients of Mn Services are signatories of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment. At Mn Services Kris Douma advises the pension funds on their responsible investment policy, coordinates responsible investment in all asset classes and is the holder of shareholder rights in approximately 2000 companies worldwide, responsible for exclusion, voting, engagement and legal actions. He is actively involved in dialogue with major Dutch, European and global companies on their CSR-policies and practices. Under the flag of the UN PRI he is involved in a number of joint investor initiatives like the Sudan Engagement Group, the Public Policy Network and in a group of UNGC-companies and PRI-investors that recently developed ‘the guidance for responsible business and investment in high risk and conflict affected areas’.
