The Executive Director of the Association, Bob Gordon, is a graduate of Stanford University (US) with extensive experience in government as a diplomat in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade with postings to Asia and the United States, and as Private Secretary and Chief of Staff respectively to two Foreign Ministers - the Hon Andrew Peacock MP and the Hon Tony Street MP. Bob also served briefly as Chief of Staff for former Prime Minister, the Hon John Howard MP, when he was Leader of the Opposition.Bob left Government service for the private sector in 1988, with the establishment of an Australian and overseas business and trade consultancy based in Canberra - Australian Business Links (ABL). He began working for the development and establishment of a biofuels industry in 1992. He was part of a small pioneer group of ethanol producers and fuel distributors that established the initial basic structure for the current phase of production and marketing of renewable fuels in Australia.In 2004, Renewable Fuels Australia (RFA) was established to embrace the emergence of commercial production of biodiesel and ethanol in Australia. In online order , RFA undertook an initiative that brought all sectors of the Biofuels industry under a united industry association - the Biofuels Association of Australia. After securing this goal Bob undertook the challenge of transforming RFA into Australia's premium national biofuels research and industry development authority.
