Mr. Hodgkinson is a Director of Emerald Capital Asia Ltd., a financial and investment advisory company based in Bangkok. Previously, Mr. Hodgkinson was a senior executive at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila. From 1992-1997, he was engaged in the management of ADB’s US.6 billion private sector investment portfolio, with emphasis on investments in private equity funds and financial institutions. From 1997-2004, Mr. Hodgkinson headed the ADB commercial co-financing team, mobilizing private sector capital and structuring credit enhancements, primarily commercial and political risk guarantees, in support of ADB projects. Prior to his appointment to ADB, Mr. Hodgkinson was Vice President of a US-based merchant bank with interests in the energy and agribusiness sectors. Previously, he was a staff member of the World Bank Group, where he managed agro-industry, transport and resource development projects in Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. During his career, Mr. Hodgkinson has served as a member of the Board of Directors of H&Q Philippine Ventures, Planter’s Bank, and Walden AB Ayala Ventures. In addition, he was a member of the Advisory Board of the NIF Asia-Pacific Fund (Singapore) and the Greater Mekong Capital Fund (Hong Kong), and Special Adviser to the Asean China Investment Fund. Mr. Hodgkinson received an MBA from the University of Southern California. Additionally, he holds graduate degrees from the College of Tropical Agriculture, University of Hawaii (where he was an East-West Center Scholar) and the George Washington University. He completed undergraduate studies at the University of California, earning a bachelor’s degree in Political Economy.
