Dr. Shah completed his professional studies at the Punjab Universityand his post-graduate degree with a focus on organizational planningand management from the School of Urban Policy, and the College ofBusiness & Public Administration, University of Louisville, USA. Dr. Shahs top-management assignments have typically involvedstewarding change through building strategic vision and teamconfidence. He as contributed to strategic change programmes fora wide array of institutions in government, corporate and citizensectors, including World-Wide Fund for Nature-Pakistan, Save theChildren-UK, Tharparkar Rural Development Programme, SialkotChamber Committee on Child Labour in Industry, Saga Sports, FujianSa-Jia Co. in China and maxIT Inc. USA. In 1998 Dr. Shah co-founded Responsible Business Initiative, followedin 2002 by the Pakistan Compliance Initiative on Security & SocialPerformance, the former as an enabler of corporate responsibility andthe latter as a supply chain bench-marking organization for the exportsector. Between 2002 and 2003, as Project Advisor (CTA) for the NWFPGovernments EIROP Planning & Budgeting Capacity Building Project,Dr. Shah was responsible for its technical integrity and operationalstrategy. He co-developed and delivered an advanced colloquium onGovernance at the Pakistan Administrative Staff College. Since late2003, Dr. Shah leads an Asian Development Bank technical assistance tothe National Council of Social Welfare, Government of Pakistan gearedtowards developing a policy framework and engagement strategy betweenthe State- & Citizen sectors. Dr. Shah is on the adjunct faculty of the Punjab Universitys Instituteof Administrative Sciences, and has lectured at the Wharton School,Michigan Business School, and Asian Institute of Technology. Dr.Shah contributed to the working groups developing sustainabilityreporting guidelines at the Global Reporting Initiative and theTransparency International-Social Accountability International BusinessPrinciples for Countering Bribery. His latest professional outputdemonstrates a framework for strengthening public-private partnershipswithin the context of the Devolution Plan (LGO 2002). He has justcompleted a management re-structuring and operational strategyassignment for the Swiss Agency for Development & Cooperation(SDC), managing change for its Civil-Society Human & InstitutionalDevelopment Programme
