Shuichi Komori has been President and Chief Executive Officer ofDaiwaSB Investments (DSBI), one of the largest investment managementcompanies in JapanÅCsince June 2002. DSBI was created by themerger with two asset management firms belonging to the former SumitomoBank (now known as Mitsui Sumitomo Bank) and Daiwa InternationalCapital Management Co Ltd (DICAM) in April 1999 when the company namewas changed to the present one.Joining Daiwa Securities in 1967, Mr. Komori spent 22 years in majorfinancial centres both in the United States and in Europe where he wasengaged in a variety of financial services businesses, includinginvestment banking and capital market transactions with both public andprivate institutional clients. He was elected a board member of DaiwaSecurities in 1991. Since then he has held various key managerialpositions, including the post of Chairman of International Operationsfor Daiwa Securities group companies. Immediately prior to joiningDSBI, he represented Daiwa Securities Group as Senior Managing Directorand Chief Financial Officer.Mr.Komori was a member of the policy committee of the Japan SecuritiesDealers Association (2001-2002) and also served as a Director andVice-Chairman of the Japan Securities Investment Advisers Association(2002-2004).He received a Bachelor's degree in Political and Economic Science fromWaseda University in Tokyo in 1967.
