Prof. Dr. Theo K. Dijkstra (Leeuwarden, The Netherlands, 1953) studiedeconometrics at the University of Groningen. He graduated cum laude in1977 and obtained his PhD in 1981 on a thesis about latent variables,i.e. variables observed and measured indirectly via indicators, instochastic models. His work at the University of Groningen involved themethodology of econometrics & statistics, as well as investmentanalysis and mathematical finance.After a brief period at ING Barings Research, he joined SNS AssetManagement in 1998. His responsibilities include the development ofdecision support tools and sustainability research. He still workspart-time at the University of Groningen, department of Econometrics& Operations Research.
