Russell Sparkes first became involved in ethical investment in theearly 1980s. He is widely recognised as one of the worldsleading experts on SRI, and is one of the few people to combinepractice in the field with authorship of academic papers aboutit. His work has been published in the Journal of Business Ethicsand Business Ethics- A European Review. The EthicalInvestor (Harper Collins 1994) was the first UK book on SRI produced bya mainstream publisher. Russell Sparkes has travelled widelymeeting SRI investors in North America, Asia, and Europe. Hisbook Socially Responsible Investment  A Global Revolution waspublished simultaneously in the UK and US by John Wiley in November2002, and was the first authoritative examination of SRI from a globalperspective.Since 1994 he has managed institutional socially responsible investmentportfolios for the Central Finance Board of the Methodist Church, wherehe currently serves as Chief Investment Officer. He is alsothe Secretary of the Joint Advisory Committee on the Ethics ofInvestment of the British Methodist Church. For six years he was anon-executive director of the UK Social Investment Forum.
