Born in 1968 in Geldrop, The Netherlands. She moved to a village nearby Deventer later on, where she finished her HAVO. She wanted to explore her artistic talents after that and went to the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht. But her creativity wasn’t always as high as she had hoped for, so she dropped art school and started earning money for a one-year trip to Israel. She very much enjoyed working outside in a kibbutz and a moshav.

Returning to Holland, she started studying again at the Hogeschool voor Boekhandel en Uitgeverij, but found out she is a person who learns things easier on the job than from books. So she started working at Uitgeverij Fiets B.V. in 1992. Robert Rubinstein was a publisher there and Esther started as an office manager. She added bookkeeping and marketing support to her skill set in the six years she worked at uitgeverij Fiets. It was there that she also met her partner Steven.

The last four years Esther had quite a few changes in life, giving birth to Martha and Niels. She dove even further into the world of children and started as a desktop publisher at Juniorpress Magazines B.V., creating the layout for children’s magazines.

In the summer of 2008 Esther accepted the invitation to join the team at TBLI. Here she falls back on her secretarial skills and is very excited to work at TBLI where her organic, sustainable upbringing comes in handy.
