"The world will benefit when economy supports well-being"

Robert Rubinstein (Founder & CEO, TBLI GROUP™)

Although born in Brooklyn, New York, Robert Rubinstein is a longtime resident of The Netherlands. So, back in 1999, when he founded a company to introduce the then radicalconcept of sustainable investing, it seemed only natural to name it after his distant former hometown: Brooklyn Bridge - Connections to the Future B.V. (BB).

The concept behind this company was the introduction of TBLI – Triple Bottom Line Investing.
From its early days, the aim of this small company was and is unabashedly global: It seeks nothing less than to re-educate the financial world.

The Team

Robert Rubinstein

Robert Rubinstein

Founder and CEO

Robert Rubinstein has been an integral thought leader for the Triple Bottom Line Investment Industry for many years. His mission, spearheaded by the organization Triple Bottom Line (TBLI) Group, is to create an inclusive values based economy. The aim is to maximize investment flows into sustainability initiatives by showing the opportunities triple bottom line investing offers to investors.

TBLI is a concept that Rubinstein pioneered, which puts forward the notion that a truly sound investment is one that provides, not just financial rewards, but social and environmental ones, as well.

Our Approach

For more than 20 years, TBLI Group has built the ecosystem for the Impact Investing and ESG community through advisory, educational and networking services.

TBLI Group’s signature event TBLI CONFERENCE™ is the longest-running and largest global forum to bring together investors, asset managers and thought leaders in sustainable finance for networking, peer-to-peer learning and finding new business opportunities. It has convened more than 30 times across Europe, North America, Asia and Latin America.

TBLI has raised significant capital for investment by introducing new business partners and mobilizing capital for sustainable investment. Among numerous initiatives TBLI has partnered with SWIFT, ABP Pension Fund, NYSE Euronext, European Union and initiated institutional investors for the Carbon Disclosure Project.

Until now, social impact has primarily been driven by non-profits, environmentalists and philanthropists and has recently grown to mainstream capital markets.

TBLI aims now to marry its history and dedication in the social impact space along with expertise in the global capital markets by dedicating resources in transactional services.

We are constantly looking for people who'd like to join our conference Volunteer Team at various locations.

There are various positions available at each event. What People Say About TBLI CONFERENCE™

The TBLI conference stands for both quality and for focus on the right things within the investment space. I do not know any other conference like this, and this is meant in a pure positive way. Both the crowd and the presentors are really different from the 'usual suspects' within the financial industry, and this is what makes it unique.

The 2018 Stockholm event was extremely valuable two days. It focused attention in the precise areas I needed, along with excellent insightful practitioners out the field making a social impact, with not too many options but enough to learn a great deal in new areas the accompanying workshops. I wouldn’t hesitate flying quite a distance for another event.

TBLI Conference stands out from other conferences in the standard of value I received during my attendance. The topics covered, quality of contacts made, deals executed and community generated are noticeably better than other conferences I’ve attended. Thank you Mr. Rubinstein for your vision & execution
Ibrahim AlHusseini (The Husseini Group LLC)
I have been attending your conferences for several years and always find them worthwhile. Your most recent event in Amsterdam was of an extremely high standard - the speakers were first class and there was a level of in-depth engagement with the issues that was thought-provoking and highly informative.  Congratulations
Rufo Quintavalle (Agro-Ecological Investment Management)
TBLI is a battery charger event. It’s an event that makes you realize how outdated your thinking has become. It is a crash course, a mini green investing MBA. It’s an energizing place - it’s got a critical role in diffusing the best practice
Leo Johnson (Co-Founder of Sustainable Finance Limited)
TBLI has established itself as the most significant gathering place for those interested in sustainable and related investment strategies. The rich array of firms and strategies represented at TBLI make it the best place to come to hear from cutting edge investors and learn from their experiences….
TBLI may rightly take credit for offering a unique platform that brings together this diverse field of work. By reaching across the silos it fosters a set of discussions that are critical to advancing not only the interests of those involved in sustainable finance, but in improving the understanding of mainstream investors with regard to the innovations taking place within the financial services arena
Jed Emerson (Senior Fellow, Generation Foundation, Generation Investment Management)
The TBLI is the internationally most renowned gathering for SRI we have today. As in all paradigm shifts, change begins with a growing number of champions and leaders who are clever enough to survive in the old paradigm while preparing for the new. To that end TBLI, the most influential conference on this arena, has played a role that cannot be overestimated
Karl Henrik Rober (PhD, MD Founder of Natural Step)
TBLI [is] – first and foremost – an investment conference. There are many other venues for advancing pure social and environmental activism. TBLI is different because your time is spent on investment fundamentals, new research on maximizing alpha, and meeting with investors who have similar levels of fiduciary responsibilities to manage and/or guide large investment portfolios….TBLI creates a safe-place for real financial professionals to ask questions and rethink long-held ideas of managing investments
Toni Symonds (Chief Consultant, Assembly Committee on Jobs Economic Development and the Economy California State Legislature)
TBLI is one of the most important organizations to provide a meeting ground for those thoughtful individuals in the financial, industrial, academic and NGO communities who seek to create greater awareness about the environmental and sustainablity issues
Prof. Prakash Sethi (University Distinguished Professor, Baruch College)
