"The world will benefit when economy supports well-being"

Robert Rubinstein (Founder & CEO, TBLI GROUP™)

History

Although born in Brooklyn, New York, Robert Rubinstein is a longtime resident of The Netherlands. So, back in 1999, when he founded a company to introduce the then radicalconcept of sustainable investing, it seemed only natural to name it after his distant former hometown: Brooklyn Bridge - Connections to the Future B.V. (BB).

The concept behind this company was the introduction of TBLI – Triple Bottom Line Investing.
From its early days, the aim of this small company was and is unabashedly global: It seeks nothing less than to re-educate the financial world.

The Team

Robert Rubinstein

Robert Rubinstein

Founder and CEO

Robert Rubinstein has been an integral thought leader for the Triple Bottom Line Investment Industry for many years. His mission, spearheaded by the organization Triple Bottom Line (TBLI) Group, is to create an inclusive values based economy. The aim is to maximize investment flows into sustainability initiatives by showing the opportunities triple bottom line investing offers to investors.

TBLI is a concept that Rubinstein pioneered, which puts forward the notion that a truly sound investment is one that provides, not just financial rewards, but social and environmental ones, as well.

Our Approach

For more than 20 years, TBLI Group has built the ecosystem for the Impact Investing and ESG community through advisory, educational and networking services.

TBLI Group’s signature event TBLI CONFERENCE™ is the longest-running and largest global forum to bring together investors, asset managers and thought leaders in sustainable finance for networking, peer-to-peer learning and finding new business opportunities. It has convened more than 30 times across Europe, North America, Asia and Latin America.

TBLI has raised significant capital for investment by introducing new business partners and mobilizing capital for sustainable investment. Among numerous initiatives TBLI has partnered with SWIFT, ABP Pension Fund, NYSE Euronext, European Union and initiated institutional investors for the Carbon Disclosure Project.

Until now, social impact has primarily been driven by non-profits, environmentalists and philanthropists and has recently grown to mainstream capital markets.

TBLI aims now to marry its history and dedication in the social impact space along with expertise in the global capital markets by dedicating resources in transactional services.

The TBLI conference stands for both quality and for focus on the right things within the investment space. I do not know any other conference like this, and this is meant in a pure positive way. Both the crowd and the presentors are really different from the 'usual suspects' within the financial industry, and this is what makes it unique.
