Barbara Toorens is responsible for business development and external relations at WorldLoop, an international not-for-profit organization committed to reducing the negative impact of electric and electronic equipment (EEE) throughout the entire product lifecycle by turning e-waste into sustainable, human and economic resources. WorldLoop provides developing countries with resources and professional mindshare to enable the creation of a100% sustainable e-waste management system, from collection and logistics to recycling and the sustainable treatment of hazardous fractions.

Toorens is an entrepreneur at heart with a passion to bridge the polarities of environmental sustainability, social responsibility and the private sector. Prior to joiningWorldPC, she ran her own consulting firm in Seattle Washington, helping multinational corporations, international nonprofits and grassroots initiatives in areas of strategy, marketing/communications and stakeholder management. Barbara has a BA in Human Services from Western Washington University and an MA in Cross-cultural & Sustainable Business Management from American University of Paris.
