Born in Jakarta, Mr. Fauzi graduated from the University of Indonesia, Faculty of Economics in 1986 and obtained his MBA in Finance/Investment Banking from Arizona State University, USA.

Mr Fauzi started his career in Banking Industry at Bank Bumi Daya in 1983 with the last position as Head of Credit Division. Later, he was the Director of Risk Management of Bank Mandiri. His last position in Bank Mandiri was the Regional Manager Area IX Banjarmasin (January–June 2005). Since June 2005 he has been appointed President Director of Bank Syariah Mandiri.

He has been participant as well as speaker in many seminars, symposiums, workshops of Sharia Banking and Conventional Banking or finance in general, nationally & internationally.
